The Methodist High School (MEHISCO) in Saltpond will on Wednesday, November 26, launch its 45th Anniversary Celebration at the Wesley Towers of the Methodist Church Ghana in Accra.
The event, scheduled to begin at 1100 hours, is being organised by the Anniversary Planning Committee of the Methodist High Old Students’ Association (MEHOSA) and the Management of MEHISCO, in collaboration with the Methodist Church Ghana.
A statement signed by Dr Justice Eddie Quainoo, the Association’s President and Chair of the 45th Anniversary Planning Committee, said the launch would mark the beginning of a year-long series of activities culminating in a grand celebration at Saltpond in 2026.
The anniversary is on the theme: “45 Years of Holistic Education and Methodist Heritage: Celebrating Legacies, Embracing the Future.“
The Most Rev Prof Johnson Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, would be the Special Guest of Honour, the statement said.
The ceremony will bring together students, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders to celebrate the school’s achievements, reflect on its journey, and mobilise support towards sustaining its legacy of excellence.
Highlights of the event will include keynote and commemorative speeches, performances by the school’s cadet and regimental band, choir, and cultural troupe, as well as the unveiling of an anniversary project and commemorative memorabilia.
“All alumni, The Methodist Church Ghana, parents and well-wishers are cordially invited to this historic event,” the statement said.
Established in 1981 by the Methodist Church Ghana, MEHISCO has trained thousands of students who have excelled in various fields globally.
The co-educational institution is founded on Christian principles that promote the values of the fear of God, integrity, service, and excellence.
