All Nations University graduates 562, urges innovation and impact

All Nations University has held its 34th graduation ceremony in Koforidua, awarding degrees and diplomas to 562 students across diverse disciplines, while urging them to champion innovation and drive social impact.

A total of 453 students received bachelor’s degrees, 58 earned master’s degrees, and 51 were awarded diploma certificates.

Addressing the ceremony, Professor Samuel H. Donkor, President of the University, highlighted the institution’s transformational impact in areas such as space technology, healthcare innovation, continental trade leadership, and digital research excellence.

He noted that All Nations University was the first in Sub-Saharan Africa to design, build, and launch a satellite, GhanaSat-1, into space.

The satellite was developed by alumni Mr Benjamin Bonsu, Mr Joseph Quansah, and Mr Ernest Martey.

On healthcare innovation, Prof. Donkor said many of the University’s graduates were serving as Biomedical Engineers in Hospitals across the country, thanks to the Biomedical Engineering and Allied Health Science programmes introduced in 2006.

He added that an alumna had established a Biomedical Department at the Presidential Hospital in Abuja, Nigeria, extending the University’s impact beyond Ghana.

He also cited the University’s partnerships with institutions such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and its membership in the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of African Universities, as key to preparing students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr Sunil Thomas Chandy, former Director of the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, said private universities should be seen as complementary to public institutions, helping to absorb the overflow of students and reducing the government’s expenditure on higher education.

He urged the graduands to cultivate foresight and commit to giving back to society as a core responsibility.

All Nations University offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes, including BSc in General Nursing, BSc in Emergency Medicine Technology, Oil and Gas Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Business Administration, Biblical Studies, and Computer Science.

Its graduate programmes include MBA in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Finance, Hospital Management, and Information Technology, as well as MPhil in Business Administration and Theology, and MSc in Cyber Security.
