Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service on Sunday, August 16, rescue a trapped driver from the wreckage of his vehicle following a two-car collision on the Accra–Kumasi Highway at Suhum Niifio.
The rescue was carried out by a six-member team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, led by Station Officer II Darkwah Prince, who arrived at the scene at 20:03 hours.
The crew found the victim pinned inside a Kia Rio, which had been struck from behind by a Ford F-150 attempting to overtake.

Using hydraulic extrication tools, the team carefully freed the casualty and ensured his immediate transfer to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
The Ford F-150 sustained extensive damage, while the Kia Rio suffered moderate damage.

No deaths were reported.
Fire personnel also recovered valuables from the scene, including GHC50,000, US$5,231.81, mobile phones, power banks, and National ID cards.
The Ghana National Fire Service has commended its officers for their professionalism and reiterated that the crash was caused by wrongful overtaking.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution and observe all road safety protocols at all times.
