Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie declares November 24–28 as ADR Week

Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has declared Monday, November 24 to Friday, November 28, 2025, as Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Week.

The celebration is on the theme: “Adoption of Innovation and Technology to Enhance Access to Justice Delivery through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).”

A statement signed by Ms Christiana Puorideme, the Acting Deputy Director, ADR, said 138 courts; 35 Circuit Courts and 103 District Courts, would dedicate the week to settling court cases through ADR across the country.

It said a press briefing would be held at the High Court in Ho, Volta Region, on Monday at 0900 hours to officially open the Week.

“The Chief Justice will address the media,” it said.

“The Bar, disputants, the media and the public are encouraged to participate fully and cooperate with the Judicial Service to make the Legal Year Term’s ADR Week a success.”

ADR has been integrated into the Judicial Service’s adjudication process under the “Court-Connected ADR” programme to make access to justice easier, cheaper, non-adversarial, expeditious and flexible, especially for the poor and vulnerable.

To promote this, the Chief Justice has instituted an ADR Week in every Legal Year Term to provide parties the opportunity to settle cases through mediation.

It is also to create awareness of ADR as a complement to the court adjudication process.

“For further information, the public may contact the ADR Department at the Law Court Complex, High Street, Accra, on 0243621987 or via email at christiana.puorideme@jsg.gov.gh.,” the statement said.
