ADAMUS Resources Limited,a gold mining company in the Ellembelle District, has handed over a refurbished classroom block to the Nyaneba Junior High School (JHS) at Nkroful.
The move followed an appeal by the Chief of Nkroful, Nana Kwasi Kutua and the Assembly Member Mr Francis Kwaw Mensah to the mining Company.
Commissioning the facility, Madam Angela List, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ADAMUS Resources Limited said, “the name of the school alone carried history and pride and deserved better”.
She said “the Nyaneba school block was one monument that existed in the country in honour of the woman who gave birth to Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah,founder of the nation”.
“We all know how crucial mothers are for a child’s foundational development; providing mandated love, security and nurturing that shapes the emotional, social and cognitive growth, acting as primary educators, role models and emotional anchors that build self-worth”.
That, Madam Angela List noted, made mothers indispensable figures in the lives of their children and for that matter in the life of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The CEO noted that “this unwavering support help children navigate challenges, instil core values and foster the confidence needed to become well-adjusted individuals and contributing members of society”.
She said “it is therefore imperative that we do justice to this edifice as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah would want us to “.
Madam List announced that ADAMUS Resources Limited would equip the Nyaneba Junior High School with new furniture and office equipment.
The CEO assured the Nkroful community and communities in its catchment areas that “the best of assistance as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, was yet to come as a life-changing experience”.
Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ellembelle touted ADAMUS Mining Company’s unmatched contributions to the Assembly.
He said ADAMUS Mines responded swiftly to the Assembly’s request upon assumption of office this year on the Teleku-Bokazo to Salma Road, by releasing money to fuel the DRIP machines to reshape the road which was in a very deplorable condition to motorists and other road users.
He said the CEO of ADAMUS Mines also donated 100 solar lamps to communities without electricity to enable school children enjoy light for their studies.
Mr Agyekum said ADAMUS Mines also supported the 41st Farmers’ Day Celebration massively with lots of items for distribution to farmers.
The DCE added that the Company respected the local content policy by employing many indigenes in Ellembelle and the Nzema enclave as employees of the Company.
Mr Agyekum thanked ADAMUS Mines and encouraged the Company to continue with their social intervention of their catchment areas.
Mr Bernard Yankey, Headteacher of the Nyaneba Junior High School said investments made by ADAMUS Mines in the school, would have a lasting impact on the lives of students and the community.
Mr Yankey thanked his predecessor, Mr Benjamin Agyarko who laid the foundation for the project and extended same to the Chief of Nkroful, Nana Kwasi Kutua and Assembly Member Mr Francis Kwaw Mensah for their tireless efforts.
The Headteacher appealed to the CEO of ADAMUS Resources Limited for ICT tools such as computers and a projector.
Mr Wilfred Katey Adoduadji, Ellembelle District of Education thanked the CEO of ADAMUS Resources Limited for giving the school a general face-lift.
He said the Nyaneba Junior High School ranked 4th in the 2025 BECE results in the district.
Nana Kwasi Kutua V, Divisional Chief of Nkroful who chaired the ceremony, commended f Mr Francis Kwaw Mensah the Assembly man for Nkroful for his instrumentality in the development of Nkrofulespecially the renovation of the Nyaneba Junior High School block.
The Chief also thanked ADAMUS Resources Limited for the massive support to Ellembelle adding that “the Nzema economy will collapse without ADAMUS Resources Limited”.
He said ADAMUS Mines had employed a lot of indigenes in Ellembelle and other Nzema areas who have contributed to the development of the local economy.
Nana Kutua V challenged the Nyaneba Junior High School to excel and place first in next year’s BECE results.
The Chief said, “it is the responsibility of parents to ensure that no child becomes a drop-out to go and do galamsey but push them to further their education to commanding heights and come back to help the school”.
Nana Kutua V decried the practice whereby “ Ellembelle is on record leading in galamsey and compromising the future of the community”.
He said traditional rulers in the area have secured a concession for the youth to do cooperative mining in addition to government’s responsible mining.
Nana Kutua V therefore reminded the youth in the area not to go to ADAMUS concession to do galamsey else the Assembly and the security agencies would deal with them.
“If ADAMUS Resources Limited experiences a boom in their operations, the local economy will also flourish but galamsey has no future”, the Chief remarked.
He said ADAMUS Mines supported the 2025 Nkrumahfestcelebrations with GHc10,000.00.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency on the sidelines, Mr Francis Kwaw Mensah, Assembly Member for Nkroful said the Nyaneba JHS block deteriorated beyond any use for academic work.
He commended the management of ADAMUS for the rapid response to modernize the school block.
