Ms Fatou Diallo Ndiaye, IOM Ghana Chief of Mission, launching the programme in Accra on Thursday, said  it emphasised the interconnectedness of individuals as foundation for inclusive and resilient development.

Through the partnership with DHL, participants would gain technical logistics skills alongside soft skills, to facilitate their readiness for employment and career progression, she noted.

“The Academy’s community-centered design guided by Ubuntu values also supports participants’ sense of belonging, resilience, and long-term reintegration,”  Ms Ndiaye said.

That emphasised how cross-sector cooperation could respond to immediate workforce needs, while building sustainable pathways to economic inclusion, she added.

“By aligning private sector leadership with development expertise, the Academy offers a replicable model for engaging diverse stakeholders in workforce development and migration-related initiatives that are locally grounded and globally informed.”

He stressed on the company’s industry expertise the initiative brought and IOM’s experience in migration, to enhance reintegration and community-based programming.

“This cross-sector partnership demonstrates how joint action across business and development actors can generate practical, scalable solutions with shared value,” he added.
