The Best Male and Female Workers were Prosper Okai Jnr. and Mrs. Abigail Osafo, respectively.

Miss Odame Sarfowaa was named the Young Promising Professional for the year.

Mr. Imoro Hudu of the Works Department was adjudged the Best Worker, and Mr. Mose Engilbert of the Budget Department was crowned the Overall Best Worker for the year 2025.

Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Shamrock Gafaru, the Akuapem North Municipal Coordinating Director, paid tribute to the entire Assembly fraternity for its stellar performance throughout the year 2025 and called on everyone to lend a hand in elevating the image of the assembly to new heights.

The Management of the Municipal Assembly reaffirmed the age-old adage that “a nation or a group which does not honour its heroes and excellence is not worth dying for.”

He urged the staff to stay focused and work as a team in 2026, as they leave behind the negative vibes of last year.

Alhaji Gafaru cautioned against habitual lateness and absenteeism by some staff, stating that such behaviours were an affronts o the code of conduct of the Local Government Service and that management would not tolerate such actions.

He congratulated the award winners and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts but to strive harder to champion the cause of the assembly.

He pledged the assembly’s commitment to support staff needs if there was the availability of financial resources.

Mr. Engilbert, Overall Best Worker, shared how the award impacted him, stating that ” he does not wait for instructions before taking initiative, and described himself as a selfless individual who thinks outside the box, even when faced with insufficient logistics and materials. ”

He emphasised the importance of being recognised through extrinsic motivation, but he believed that workers should primarily cultivate intrinsic motivation, as it appeals to one’s conscience, intuition, and self-actualisation.

Additionally, interactions with several individuals revealed that the only drawback of the ceremony was the absence of a trip for the entire staff to an interesting destination to conclude the awards event.
