Mahama Cares funds life-saving heart surgeries for three children

Three children receiving care for “hole in heart” conditions at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have received a lifeline, as the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) committed GH₵447,000 to cover their treatment.

The donation marks the Fund’s third pilot case engagement, designed to streamline processes for a future nationwide launch.

Officials stated the pilot phase ensures future support is delivered “swiftly, seamlessly and with dignity” to vulnerable patients facing financial barriers to critical care.

Dr. Yakubu Seidu Adam, Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, along with senior management, welcomed the donation with excitement.

He thanked the Ghana Medical Trust Fund for its timely intervention, calling it a major relief for affected families and a significant boost to the hospital’s specialized care efforts.
