MP donates dual desks to schools in Navrongo Central

Mr Simon Aworigo, Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central constituency has donated 200 metallic dual desks to the Kassena Nankana Municipal Education Directorate for onward distribution to schools to improve teaching and learning in basic schools across the constituency.

The provision of the desks is in fulfilment of some key campaign promises the MP made during the 2024 electioneering campaign.

The MP reiterated his commitment to education, pledging that every year he would continue to provide logistical support aimed at enhancing learning outcomes within the constituency.

He said, education was one of his topmost priorities saying, “Education made me and many others in the constituency who we are today. I shall therefore do whatever it takes to contribute my quota towards improving education.”

He said, he has so far given scholarships to some 320 tertiary students in the constituency who are pursuing various courses.

He advised students to take their education seriously so that they could become future leaders.

Mr Thomas Kanlisi, the Kassena Nankana Municipal Director of Education who received the desks expressed appreciation to the MP and noted that over 400 pupils had so far benefited from the MP’s meritorious donations to the Ghana Education Service.

Mr Kanlisi indicated that the MP had so far redeemed several of his pledges, including donations to the Navrongo and the Awe Senior High Schools.

He appealed to the constituents to continue supporting the MP so that he could do more in the quest to bring sustainable development to the area for the collective benefit of all.

He said the desks would be distributed to schools in dire need of them and appealed for more from other individuals to ensure that reduce the furniture deficit in the municipality.
