More than 600 delegates to cast votes in NPP Presidential Primary in Hohoe  

A total of 656 delegates are expected to cast votes in the 2026 Presidential Primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Hohoe Constituency of the Volta Region.  

The exercise underway at the St Francis College of Education basketball court began at 0700 hours and expected to end at 1400 hours.  

Mr Henry Ametefe, Hohoe Constituency Director of Research and Elections told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Party made sure the elections were held in an open space to enhance transparency.

He said the Electoral Commission officials had put adequate measures in place while the Police were present for security. 

Mr Ametefe said the expectation was that the process would end successfully. 

Mr Daniel Noble Awume, former Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said his expectation was that the exercise would be peaceful and serene.  

He said he had been on the grounds for about two weeks and believed all candidates had done their best.  

Mr Awume said it was expected that former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would emerge victorious, make the Party proud and forge ahead to annex the presidential seat back to the NPP.

Mr Kofi Bentil, former Hohoe Constituency Communication Director, commended the EC officials for the smooth process to ensure delegates cast their ballots, adding that, “at the end of the day, whoever wins, we all follow as a party”.
