Twelve individuals are in critical condition following a serious three-car accident at Gomoa Amenfi on Tuesday.
The collision involved a Toyota Voxy (GN 9883-25), a Nissan Altima (GW 1895-09), and a Hyundai Elantra (GR 1972-15).
Preliminary reports indicate the Toyota Voxy, travelling from Kasoa to Cape Coast, attempted an improper overtaking manoeuvre and collided head-on with the oncoming Nissan Altima.
The impact caused the Hyundai Elantra, which was following, to crash into the Toyota Voxy.
Of the twelve critically injured, eight were passengers in the Toyota Voxy, and four were occupants of the Nissan Altima.
All victims were transported to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for urgent care.
Personnel from the Winneba Police and Apam Ghana National Fire Service managed the scene, clearing the wreckage to restore traffic flow.
An investigation into the exact cause of the accident is ongoing.
