President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday assented to the 24‑Hour Economy Authority Bill, paving the way for the establishment of the Authority to oversee the implementation of the Government’s 24‑Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.
The Bill is anchored on three core pillars: Production Systems Development and Transformation; Development of Supply Chain and Market Systems; and Labour Development.
The signing ceremony, held at the Cabinet, was witnessed by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku‑Agyemang, Mr Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, Clerk to Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, and Presidential Staffers.

President Mahama said the Bill was long anticipated by Ghanaians and represents one of the government’s flagship strategies for economic transformation.
“It has taken a while, but we needed to go patiently through the process to give legal effect to it, and so from now we must move from strategy to implementation,” he stated.
He noted that the business community, local and foreign investors alike, was eager to see the incentives the government would introduce to boost investment, expand productivity, and create employment for the youth.
The President expressed gratitude to Mr Goosie Tanoh, Presidential Advisor on the 24‑Hour Economy, and his team for their hard work leading to the passage of the Bill by Parliament.
