World Vision Ghana donates farm equipment to boost productivity in Bodi District 

World Vision Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has donated farm equipment to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), through the Bodi District Assembly, to support farmer groups in the district. 

The equipment which included a maize thresher and two rice threshers, was aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and improving livelihoods. 

The equipment were respectively handed over to the Tikobo Alavanyo women’s group, Kafukaa Amazing Grace Rice farmers, and Lawerkrom Yesu Adom Rice Farmers.

Madam Selasi Aku Baku, the Project Officer of World Vision Ghana, stated that the organisation is committed to strengthening agricultural value chains. 

Mr Stephen Baidoo, the Bodi District Chief Executive, who received the items, advised farmers to take good care of the equipment and view farming as a business adventure.  

He encouraged them to cultivate cassava, citing the upcoming Garri factory in the district as a ready market for their produce. 

Mr Isaac Mensah, the MOFA District Director, expressed gratitude, highlighting the impact of the donation on food security and rural development.  

He encouraged farmers to join farmer groups to access such support.
