A total of 299 young entrepreneurs in the Oti Region are set to benefit from grant support under the Adwumawura Programme, a government initiative designed to curb youth unemployment by fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
As part of a rigorous selection process, the Grants Management Committee has invited the shortlisted beneficiaries to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts.
The pitching session is intended to assess the viability, scalability, and potential economic impact of each proposal, ensuring that funding is channeled into enterprises capable of driving meaningful growth at the local level.

In an interview with Adom News, the Deputy Chief Executive of MASLOC, Khalifa Seidu, explained that the exercise marks a critical step for beneficiaries, who have already completed a five-week capacity-building programme to refine their business models and proposals.

She encouraged the entrepreneurs to remain calm and focused during the evaluation, emphasizing that the goal is to identify businesses with the potential to expand, create jobs, and deliver measurable results.

According to Seidu, this structured approach reflects best practices in development financing and aligns with the government’s RESET agenda, which prioritizes strategic investment, accountability, and outcomes-driven interventions.

Successful applicants are expected to begin receiving their grants this week. Seidu urged beneficiaries to utilize the funds responsibly, noting that prudent management would determine not only the sustainability of their individual businesses but also the overall success and impact of the programme.

Meanwhile, some of the prospective beneficiaries have expressed optimism about the opportunity, stating their readiness to use the support to scale up operations, enhance productivity, and build resilient enterprises for the future.
