He garnered 10,884 valid votes to defeat four other candidates. In accordance with Regulation 43(2b) of the Public Elections Regulations, C.I. 127, the Electoral Commission formally transmitted the writ of election to the Clerk to Parliament on March 4, 2026.

In keeping with Standing Order 13(1), Speaker Bagbin administered the Oaths of Allegiance and the MP’s Oath to the newly elected legislator.

As a symbolic gesture to underscore his responsibilities, the Speaker presented him with hard copies of the 1992 Constitution and the revised Standing Orders of Parliament.

In a firm and memorable admonition, Speaker Bagbin held the new MP accountable to his constituents, stating: “I’m going to hold you accountable to the good people of Ayawaso East. You did not want to serve Ghana as High Commissioner but as a Member of Parliament… My eyes will be on you… If you don’t perform, I will personally campaign against you in the next election.”

His pointed remarks were met with spontaneous laughter from the Members present on the floor.
