Health Ministry suspends nursing college principal over admission irregularities

The Ministry of Health has suspended Fredrick Anaba, Principal of the College of Nursing and Midwifery at Nkanchina, following allegations of gross administrative misconduct.

The suspension, effective immediately, comes after the Principal was accused of enrolling students beyond the approved quota and introducing academic programs without official authorisation.

The Ministry has launched a full administrative investigation into the matter.

Mr. Anaba was initially queried on February 19, 2026, concerning admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

However, after a review of his response, authorities determined that a comprehensive inquiry was required to ascertain the full scope of the alleged irregularities.

In the interim, the Principal has been directed to hand over all administrative responsibilities to the Acting Vice Principal to ensure the continued smooth operation of the institution.

In a statement released on Thursday, March 12, the Ministry reinforced its commitment to upholding standards in health education.

“The Ministry will not tolerate deviations from established regulations,” the statement, signed by Head of Public Relations Isaac Ofei Baah, read.
