2001 Year Group of the Aggrey Memorial Old Students Association (AMOSA) has officially handed over an ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast.
The 50-seater facility, equipped with computers, internet access, a projector, and other ICT tools, was constructed by the year group to mark their 25th anniversary since completing the school. The commissioning coincided with the school’s 86th anniversary celebration and speech and prize giving day.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme: “Building Good Leaders, Shaping the Future: The Role of Stakeholders.”
Receiving the facility, Headmistress Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Adentwi-Hayford expressed profound gratitude to the group, noting that the ICT Department had long yearned for such an upgrade.
“Our ICT Department has really yearned for a facility like this. They are always asking how we can get new computers and improve the learning environment. The 2001-year group has answered our prayers,” she said.
She assured that the centre would be properly maintained and used for its intended purpose, urging students to take good care of the facility. According to her, the centre would strengthen students’ digital skills and open doors to greater academic and career opportunities.
Mr. Joseph Baffoe, President of the 2001 Year Group, explained that the project was initiated to complement the school’s existing ICT infrastructure and enhance digital learning.
“This facility is our contribution to supporting teaching and learning in the digital age. As a year group, we have also made provisions to support the maintenance of the ICT infrastructure to ensure that it continues to serve generations of students,” he said.
