MP urges Muslims to uphold, defend values of discipline, love and unity 

Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region, has advised Muslim communities to uphold and defend the values of discipline, love and unity. 
 
He said those virtues remained key to progressive development, reminding Muslims that Islamic teachings hinged on the pillars of peace and social cohesion. 
 
The MP gave the advice when he addressed hundreds of Muslims at a gathering at Wenchi to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration, urging them to continue to co-exist peacefully with all others. 

He said that peace and unity remained a perquisite for community development. 
 
Alhaji Haruna said Islam enjoined Muslims to be compassionate and kind hearted and advised the Muslims to show love by praying for the nation and people in authority. 
 
He admonished Muslim youth to be law-abiding and stay away from substance abuse, while channeling their exuberances into productive activities that contributed positively to shaping society. 
 
Alhaji Issah Ibrahim, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Imam, thanked Allah for sailing Muslims through a successful Ramadan, and led the gathering to pray for prevailing peace and progressive national development.
