Ghana to open ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers campaign against Seychelles

Ghana’s national cricket team will welcome Seychelles to the Achimota Cricket Oval as they begin their journey on Tuesday, 24th March, in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.

The Ghanaian side is among six competitive African nations, including Eswatini, St Helena, Tanzania, Malawi and Seychelles, battling for a coveted place in the next round of the tournament.

With so much at stake, every match carries weight, and the highly anticipated clash already feels decisive as both sides yearn for the bragging rights.

Playing in Accra, Ghana, would look to make the most of familiar conditions and passionate home support to begin their campaign on a high note.

Expect the hosts to come out aggressively, aiming to make early breakthroughs and put Malawi under pressure from the start.

Leading the charge for Ghana would be Captain Obed Harvey, alongside key figures Richmond Baaleri, Jayant Gautum, Frank Baaleri, and Isaac Kofi Otuafo Aboagye, names that carry not just form but the hopes of a nation eager to rise on the continental stage.

Seychelles’ recent performances, including strong outings against Ghana, had been a clear indication that Seychelles could upset Ghana.

As the first ball approaches, tension would be unavoidable as both sides are eyeing the top spots, and neither would want to take a step back.
