The Ghana Police Service has declared a man wanted in connection with an alleged fraud involving the purchase of two unregistered Range Rover vehicles valued at $115,000.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a warrant for the arrest of Harrison Nii Otoo, also known as a land dealer, following a complaint of defrauding by false pretences.
According to police sources, the suspect allegedly acquired the luxury vehicles using four Fidelity Bank cheques that were later dishonoured due to insufficient funds.
The cheques had face values of GH¢200,000, GH¢5,000, GH¢5,000, and GH¢200,000, all of which were reportedly returned unpaid.
Despite ongoing efforts by law enforcement, attempts to trace and apprehend the suspect have so far been unsuccessful.
The police have described the suspect: Harrison Nii Otoo is a 50-year-old man, dark in complexion, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an average build.
He is a native of Kpone Katamanso and is believed to be hiding within the Tema, Prampram, and Nungua areas.
Authorities are appealing to the public for information. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to contact the Financial Forensics Unit of the CID via 0543352597 or 0244850438.
The Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing individuals involved in financial crimes and ensuring they are brought to justice.
