Anloga Assembly sets June 6 deadline to regularise unauthorised billboards

The Anloga District Assembly, in the Volta Region, has directed owners of signages, signposts and billboards erected without permits to regularise them on or before June 6, 2026.

The Assembly said the directive formed part of efforts to ensure orderliness and compliance with spatial planning regulations in the district.

Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, the Anloga District Chief Executive (DCE), consequently urged all affected persons to take advantage of the grace period to avoid any further punishment or penalties.

“The notice is provided as early as possible to give the maximum timeframe to all affected individuals or companies to do the needful, and those who will still failed to obtain permits within the stipulated time would have their signages removed,” she said.

She added that defaulters would also be liable to pay penalties in addition to the permit fee before they would be allowed to reinstall their signages, billboards and others.

She said the assembly would undertake a special operation to remove all unauthorised signages, signposts, and billboards after the June 6 deadline and cautioned that the exercise would be carried out without any further notice once the grace period elapsed.

“The notice encouraged the public to visit the District Assembly for the necessary permits or corrections to avoid the removal of their advertising structures or face the consequences thereafter.”

She explained that the move was to sanitise the district and ensure that all outdoor advertisements met the required standards.
