The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) following his remarks against a judge of the Accra Circuit Court.

He faces charges of publication of false news and offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace.

The charges stem from a video circulated online in which Abronye DC allegedly made derogatory remarks about a Circuit Court judge.

Prosecutors told the court that Baffoe accused the judge of always presiding over political cases and claimed that the judge’s rulings were wrong and contained grammatical errors.

The court refused bail on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He is set to reappear on May 27.

According to the prosecution, Baffoe also stated: “You are not a judge but rather a politician who has covered your hair with a sack claiming you are a judge.”

The prosecution further alleged that Baffoe launched the social media attack following a comment made by a pastor concerning the Vice President in a separate case currently under trial.

The court was told that the remarks were intended to incite public sentiment against both the judge and the judicial process.
