President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Mahama ICT Centre in Damongo, describing the facility as complementary to the Government’s Basic Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (BSTEM) programme.
The commissioning formed part of the President’s two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Savannah Region.
A statement issued by the Presidency, said speaking at the event, the President noted that the Centre would support practical learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, particularly in information and communications technology, following the rollout of the BSTEM programme in the region.
He expressed satisfaction that the facility is powered entirely by solar energy, describing it as a “green lab” that aligns with sustainable development goals.
