The Sefwi Bodi District office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has organised a float to deepen public awareness on the Free Primary Health Care (FPHC) policy within the area.
Mr Eric Frimpong, the Bodi District Manager of the NHIA, during the exercise said the float was part of a wider community engagement strategy to ensure no one was left out when the FPHC programme implementation commenced in the district.
He said through the policy, health providers were not just going to wait for patients to visit facilities, but would take healthcare to the doorsteps of the people in their homes, schools, workplace, and marketplaces among other locations.
He added that because of the rollout of the FPHC policy, NHIA was also enrolling members for free.
“For the past five weeks NHIS has been enrolling Ghanaians for free, both new registration and renewal. This started on the 15th of April and will end on 31st May 2026, so kindly take opportunity of this if you have not done so,” Mr Frimpong said.

Mr Paul Noah Quam, the Bodi District Director of Health, noted that the Free Primary Health Care programme would was being rolled out starting from 150 undeserved districts across the country.
He said the policy included; preventive care, maternal and child health, basic curative service, mental health, family planning and emergency stabilisation among others.
The float brought together staff from the Bodi District Health Directorate, Regional and District staff of the NHIA, artisans, traders, and civil servants among other groups.
