Ghana brings home 327 citizens displaced by Ivory Coast demolitions

The government has begun repatriating 327 Ghanaians left homeless after a demolition drive in Abidjan’s Port Bouët district.

According to the Foreign Ministry, 228 citizens arrived by road on Thursday, with the remaining 99 scheduled to return today, June 12.

The evictees, who lost their jobs and homes, are being transported on state-provided buses and trucks.

Officials added that while the Ivorian government has promised compensation, Ghana’s mission will stay engaged to ensure payments are made.
