The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has announced the appointment of Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea as his new Lead Defence Counsel.
The decision follows careful consultation and is an exercise of Mr. Boasiako’s constitutional right to legal representation of his own choosing.
Mr. Atta Akyea will take over from Mr. Andy Appiah-Kubi, to whom the Chairman extends his sincere gratitude for prior services.
Chairman Wontumi remains confident in the judicial process and urges the public to refrain from speculation.
He reaffirms that he is innocent until proven guilty and that the burden of proof lies with the prosecution.
