Scores of angry Menzgold customers storm NAM 1's residence

Scores of angry customers of the defunct gold trading company, Menzgold matched to the home of the CEO Nana Appiah Mensah to seek redress for their locked up cash.

The customers numbering over 500 converged at Shiashie and then proceeded to the house of the CEO.

 

 

One of the customers said; “We are here to collect our monies. That is why we are here. We are not here to damage anything or to harass anybody. We are here peacefully for our invested monies. That is the reason we are here.”

The vividly angry customers were said to have overpowered the police force present and made their way into NAM1’s Trasacco Estate, to demand their money.

Arrests

According to reports, Police personnel were deployed to the residence and some of the aggrieved customers were arrested.

Over 100 customers have since been arrested by the police since the incident this afternoon.

The other customers have trooped the police headquarters, saying they do not understand the basis on which the arrests were made. They also the police of using brut force on them say they will remain at the police regional headquarters until their colleagues are released.

The customers are at this juncture begging His Excellency President Akufo-Addo to rescind on his earlier decision not to intervene in the matter.

It should be recalled that, the company released a communique a few weeks ago said they had a payment plan and was ready to start paying its customers.

It also said customers who did not receive any interest on their investment from the start of the contract will be the first to be paid beginning Friday, December 27.
