Voting in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ketu North Constituency Executive Committee elections has ended peacefully at Dzodze despite a delay in the commencement of the exercise.
A total of 1,126 delegates cast their ballots out of the 1,203 expected voters by the scheduled closing time of 1600 hours, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed.
The exercise was conducted without incident, with delegates and aspirants remaining at the polling centre after voting to witness the sorting and counting of ballots.
Although the elections started later than expected, the delay did not affect the scheduled closing time as electoral officials proceeded with the process and closed polls at 1600 hours.
The counting of ballots was expected to determine the successful candidates who would constitute the new NPP Ketu North Constituency Executive Committee.
The elections were keenly contested, with delegates remaining patient as officials prepared to begin the counting process.
The peaceful conclusion of the voting process was viewed as a positive development following an earlier delay caused by anomalies detected on some ballot papers.
