The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man and the injury of his wife at Beach Drive Estate in Tuba, near Weija, on August 6, 2026.
The Accra Regional Police Command, working with the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), apprehended Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, following a report received by the Weija Police on the day of the incident.
According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene to find Mohammed Rahman and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
Both victims were rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. Fosu has since been transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and is reportedly responding to treatment.
During interrogation, suspect Adams Adder Almeida allegedly confessed to the shooting, citing a motive rooted in personal grievances.
Police reports indicate Almeida claimed the deceased had repeatedly referred to him as “lazy and useless,” which he said had negatively affected his mental state.
Almeida reportedly led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the crime was recovered from beneath a wardrobe.
Bala Bilyon, who is employed by the deceased and shares a room with his brother, has also been arrested for questioning.
The investigation has taken a further turn as Almeida claimed the weapon was given to him by a friend named Gideon.
However, efforts to locate Gideon at his Tuba residence were unsuccessful, and police are currently searching for him to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.
