The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Dramani Bukari, has died.
Reports confirm that he passed away in London on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
While the NPA and the Bukari family have yet to issue an official statement, sources close to the family indicate that Dr. Bukari succumbed to a short illness.
His passing has been corroborated by several government officials and members of the ruling National Democratic Congress, who took to social media to express their condolences.
Before his appointment at the NPA, Dr. Bukari served as the Director of Entrepreneurship, Partnerships, and Investments at the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC).
He was a renowned expert in energy systems, petroleum pricing, and taxation, holding an MSc in Energy Economics (Distinction) and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Technologies.
He also sat on the Governing Board of the Ghana Standards Authority.
