Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akatsi South, has called for a deeper strategic partnership between the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly and Avenor Community Bank PLC to accelerate local economic development.
He said the partnership should focus on financing local businesses, young entrepreneurs and farmers to stimulate enterprise growth, create jobs, and strengthen the economic base of the Municipality.
Mr Dagba made the call when he served as Guest Speaker at the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Bank in Akatsi on Sunday.
He said although Akatsi South had considerable agricultural and commercial potential, many residents continued to face limited access to affordable credit, decent employment opportunities and essential infrastructure.
Mr Dagba therefore urged the bank to work with the Assembly to identify credible, well-structured and bankable beneficiaries whose businesses and ideas could be supported with appropriate financing.
He said such collaboration could unlock enterprise growth, stimulate job creation and strengthen the economic backbone of the municipality.
Mr Dagba also identified agriculture as a critical area for collaboration, urging the Bank to expand access to credit for farmers to finance inputs, mechanisation, storage, processing and marketing.
He said the approach would help move farmers from subsistence production to value addition and improved incomes.
Mr Dagba also said the Assembly was prepared to work with the bank to ensure that financial interventions translated into measurable development outcomes within communities.
He described the Avenor Community Bank as a strategic development partner rather than only a financial institution, stressing that its contribution should extend to improving livelihoods and creating opportunities.
Mr Dagba assured the Board and Management of the Assembly’s commitment to working with the bank to empower young people, strengthen agriculture, and respond to the development needs of residents.
