The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled a major financial package for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, with each of the 18 clubs receiving GHS 1 million upfront.

Announcing the move at the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress in Prampram, President Kurt Okraku confirmed that the league champions will earn GHS 3 million, with a total prize purse of GHS 9.5 million up for grabs.

The funding, backed by a new partnership with Adesa Productions Limited, is designed to bolster club operations, improve player welfare, and raise overall competitiveness.

The GFA views the initiative as a cornerstone of its broader commercialisation strategy, aimed at attracting sponsorship, boosting matchday revenues, and enhancing broadcast appeal.

With the season set to kick off between September 4 and 7, the financial injection signals the GFA’s push to build a more professional, sustainable, and marketable top-flight league.
