Mr Rafiu Adam Seidu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura-Sekyedumase, has cut the sod for the construction of storm drains at Kotokoliline in the Ejura township to address perennial flooding and improve sanitation in the municipality.

He said the construction of the drains went beyond the provision of concrete structures, explaining that it was aimed at addressing perennial flooding, protecting lives and property, improving sanitation and safeguarding businesses and livelihoods.

He said the intervention would also contribute to creating a safer and more resilient urban environment for residents.

After the ceremony, the MCE and other stakeholders inspected ongoing construction works at the Ejura 24-Hour Economy Market.

He described the market project as a key intervention that would stimulate economic activity, create opportunities for traders and entrepreneurs, generate employment, and contribute significantly to the municipality’s economic transformation upon completion.

He said the two projects demonstrated the benefits of collaboration among local authorities, stakeholders and development partners in advancing development.
