Two people have been confirmed dead following a road traffic accident on Saturday, September 26, 2026, along the Kpetoe–Sarakope stretch in the Volta Region.
The victims, one male and one female, died at the Ho Teaching Hospital after being rescued from the crash scene.
The accident involved a Hyundai H100 bus carrying 12 passengers and a Ford tractor with two occupants, all travelling from Kpetoe towards Aflao.
Firefighters from the Kpetoe Fire Station responded to the scene and rescued all 14 occupants. The victims were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and the Ghana Police Service for conveyance to the Ho Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
It was at the hospital that the two victims were later pronounced dead.
The remaining 12 survivors are receiving treatment at the Ho Teaching Hospital.
Authorities have yet to comment on the cause of the crash as investigations continue.
