The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old phone dealer in Circle, Nana Yaw Kyere, who was reported missing on September 22, 2026.
The suspects, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai, were picked up by the Missing Persons Unit following investigations.
According to the police, preliminary findings show the victim left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19 in his Honda Civic and never returned.
Investigations revealed he was lured to Tefe’s residence at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.
Police say both suspects confessed to their involvement, stating that Tefe attacked the victim with a metallic object during a confrontation. The victim was moved to another room, where he was left unattended and later died.
Further investigations established that the body was conveyed in a Kia Morning vehicle to a location near the motorway on September 20, where it was dumped in a bush and set ablaze.
The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21.
The victim’s biological mother and an uncle identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
Police have also retrieved the victim’s iPhone 12, which Tefe allegedly sold for GHC100.00. The buyer, Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained for dishonestly receiving the phone.
Meanwhile, Obodai is being investigated for his role in the disposal of the body, and his father’s Kia Morning vehicle, believed to have been used to convey the body, has been impounded.
The three suspects remain in police custody and will be put before the court as investigations continue.
