Mr Buadu pledges to empower Agona West wards and branches with businesses

Mr  Egyin Nicholas Buadu, an aspiring Agona West NDC Constituency Chairman, has pledged to establish businesses at wards and branches of the party to empower them financially if elected in the upcoming elections.

According to the Chairman hopeful, this was to adequately resource members and executives to help them become self-sufficient and not depend on constituency, regional and national executives for financial support.

Mr Egyin Buadu made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru, saying the wards and branches were the foundation needed to be adequately resourced to reduce demands from the top.

He noted that as immediate past elections committee chairman, he had the capability to perform creditably and therefore solicited for votes from the delegates in the election, slated for Saturday, October 24, 2026.

He said his decision to set up businesses was because during his tour of the constituency to canvas for votes, it came up that it was needful to establish businesses in area.

Mr Egyin Buadu assured the delegates that proposals and business plan had been done to help raise funds to establish the businesses to help reduce complaints which disrupted party activities at wards and branches.

The Chairman hopeful observed that lack of resources demoralised majority of them, and pledged to assist if given him the opportunity to become Constituency Chairman of the party.

Mr Egyin Buadu was optimistic of his chances of emerging victorious in the upcoming elections because he had played neutral roles as far as party elections were concerned.

On Party unity, he said he was ready to unite the constituency if given the nod because when the delegates settled on any of his two contenders, the incumbent chairman, Mr Alexander Sekormy and Nana Yaw Dodoo who contested and lost in previous elections, the fierce rivalry between the two would deepen the tension and affect the fortunes of the party in future.

He pledged to co-opt the two contestants into the constituency’s executive body to dismantle the factions which posed danger for the party.

He said there was no doubt that bitterness among members was rife after the last constituency election which had impacted negatively on the Agona West NDC that needed to be solved to enhance the chances of the party in 2028.

He further stressed the need for protests by disgruntled members that they had been sidelined to be addressed.

Mr Egyin Buadu said the experience gained would be brought to bear to resolve complaints and other petty squabbles in the Party.
