IGP deploys special team to investigate Tamale children’s deaths

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has deployed a specialised homicide and forensic team to Tamale following the discovery of three children dead in the boot of a vehicle at Koblimahagu.

The victims, Dauda Abdul Aziz (3), Saani Alsharaf (5), and Dauda Fadilan (7), were reported missing on Sunday, October 4, after failing to return from Islamic classes.

Their bodies were found early Monday morning inside a black Hyundai Tucson registered to a Ghana Immigration Service officer.

The vehicle was discovered stuck in mud, with the driver’s door open and the boot locked.

The vehicle owner has been arrested and is being taken to Accra to assist the investigation. Police say the suspect claimed the car had been stuck in the mud for five days before the discovery.

The IGP has assured the public that all necessary investigative steps are being taken, urging calm while the autopsy and forensic examinations are conducted.
