Ghanaian youth resort to smoking faeces – Narcotics Control Board

The smoking of marijuana and the use of various substances by the youth in an attempt to get high is nothing new in Ghana.

Unfortunately, smoking weed, sniffing cocaine and glue are not enough. Some young people have apparently resorted to smoking dry faeces and soaking sanitary pads to drink in a bid to be vitalised.

This worrying revelation was made by the Upper West regional commander of Narcotics Control Board Ishak Bakuri when Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery visited the regional NACOB office as part of his three-day tour of the region.

Interestingly, for people who could not afford to buy new sanitary pads, they resort to picking up used ones from bins and then soaking them, boiling it and eventually drinking the residue.

Mr Bakuri said, there is currently no law in the country as yet to control the youth in this new wave of experimentation.
