Artiste manager and showbiz critic, Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog, is extremely impressed by the ‘Year of Return’ initiative and its benefits.
The showbiz critic, who is believed to be sympathizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo should be commended for the initiative.
Bulldog also warned that any political party that will try to stop the ‘Year of Return’ and the ‘Beyond the Return’ programs should not be given political power.
”And this is what I want to say, people like the Paa Johns and the office they hold is key, because for me, if another government will come and cancel the Year of Return, then, they should not be voted into power at all. This is one small light in the entertainment industry we want to enjoy”, he said.
Bulldog is of the view that though the government has performed abysmally, it will be better to maintain the administration for the entertainment industry to continue to enjoy the benefits associated with the “Year of Return”.
“This year is an election year, and on 7 January 2021, a new President will be outdoored, whether it’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) or an independent candidate, but surely won’t be New Patriotic Party (NPP)….. If they are coming, they should continue it, other than that, they shouldn’t come, so that we maintain our (President) Akufo-Addo and his vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,”, the artiste manager said.
Aside the ‘Year of Return’, Bulldog stated that the NPP government has failed to fulfill its numerous campaign promises.
