Mr Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for overseeing more than 600 development projects across the Volta Region under the government’s Resetting Ghana Agenda.
Mr Agbana, in a reaction to the President’s two-day working tour of the region, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the people of the region appreciated President Mahama’s commitment to advancing development in the area.
He said residents were grateful for the numerous infrastructure and socio-economic interventions underway and assured the President of their continued support while calling for more development initiatives.
The Ketu North legislator said two key assurances given by President Mahama during the tour particularly excited him: the planned modernisation of the Ho Sports Stadium and the proposed upgrading of the Ohawu Agricultural College.
According to Mr Agbana, the President assured residents that the design phase for the redevelopment of the Ho Sports Stadium would begin immediately, after which construction would commence.
“As the chief advocate for this project, I will closely monitor its progress and keep the people informed every step of the way. It must be done, and it will be done. President Mahama is a promise keeper,” he stated.
On the Ohawu Agricultural College project, the MP said President Mahama reiterated the strategic importance of the institution and disclosed that plans to upgrade it were at an advanced stage.
Mr Agbana pledged to continue engaging the relevant authorities to ensure the project was implemented to enhance agricultural education and skills development in the region.
He also commended the Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu, and the entire government team for their dedication to accelerating development across the region.
President Mahama undertook a two-day working tour of the Volta Region from Thursday to Friday as part of his nationwide Resetting Ghana Agenda Tour.
During the tour, he inspected ongoing projects, launched new development initiatives, held a Citizens’ Engagement and Town Hall Meeting in Ho, and commissioned the Akatsi North District Police Headquarters at Ave-Dakpa.
