Al Shabab grant Thomas Partey leave following father’s death

Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab have granted Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey special leave to travel to his home country following the death of his father.

The club expressed its condolences in an official statement published on its X account, wishing Partey and his family strength and patience during the difficult period.

The club wished Partey and his loved ones “strength and patience” during this difficult time.

Partey, 33, only joined Al Shabab on August 12, arriving from Villarreal to bolster the Riyadh club’s midfield for the new season.

The Ghana international has had a stellar career in Europe, starring for Atlético Madrid and Villarreal in Spain before a move to Arsenal in the Premier League.

He made 32 appearances for Villarreal last season before making the switch to Saudi Arabia.
