Assembly hands over GHc50,000.00 renovated toilet and urinal for Tumu Market

The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has renovated and officially handed over a public toilet and urinal facility at the Tumu market, which will bring relief to traders and visitors facing challenges accessing sanitation services.

The facility, which had been abandoned for some time, was refurbished at a total cost of GH¢50,000, funded entirely through the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF).

The renovation works included the dislodging of waste, structural rehabilitation, painting, provision of water, and installation of essential fittings to make the facility fully functional.

He emphasised that the use of internally generated funds demonstrated the Assembly’s dedication to mobilising local resources for development.

Mr Yakubu urged the Tumu Urban Council, which received the facility, to ensure proper maintenance and management to guarantee its sustainability.

He  called for the appointment of a dedicated caretaker to oversee operations and ensure cleanliness at all times.

The MCE  urged residents to treat the facility with care and a sense of ownership to ensure it serves the community effectively for years to come.

He noted that the project would significantly benefit traders, commuters, and other users of the busy Tumu market.
