The 17-member Banda District Assembly in the Bono Region has retained Mr Sulemana Yahaya as its Presiding Member (PM) for another term, by a popular acclamation.
In an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) at Banda-Ahenkro, Mr Yahaha received a 100 percent endorsement from the Assembly Members.
Madam Naomi Kyekye, the Banda District Director of the EC announced the outcome of the elections and declared Mr Yahaya as the elected PM.
In an interview with the media, Mr Yahaya thanked the assembly members, and the chiefs and queens of the district for the confidence reposed in him once again, saying that his overwhelming endorsement showed the confidence they had in him, pledging to do more for the holistic development of the district.
He pledged to continue serving the people in humility and in diligence, urging their support and cooperation towards bringing the development of the district to the next level and to better lives of the people.
Mr Yahaya also assured the assembly of his dedication to work hard to improve their welfare.
