EOCO urges public to disregard reports of GH¢50m bail granted Nana Baffour Awuah

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Friday urged the public to disregard media reports that it had granted Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, a GH¢50 million bail.

It said it was continuing with investigative, procedural and operational processes involving the MP.

The Office, in a statement issued in Accra, said: “The suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to EOCO on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at about 1000 hours to assist with ongoing investigations.”

It said Nana Baffour Awuah was cooperating with investigators as the Office continued with the necessary investigative processes and procedures.

The statement said EOCO was mindful of the applicable constitutional timeframes and procedural requirements governing bail.

It said it was working with the Office of the Attorney-General to bring the suspect before a weekend court.

EOCO said it would continue to provide updates on the matter as and when appropriate and in accordance with applicable procedures.
