An early-morning fire has broken out at Avenor in Accra’s North Industrial Area.
Videos seen on social media show flames and smoke billowing from the area, which is home to both businesses and residents.
Details remain limited at this stage; however, reports indicate that a building has been destroyed.
The cause of the fire, the extent of the damage and whether anyone has been injured have not yet been confirmed.
A JoyNews reporter at the scene reports that firefighters have arrived but cannot reach the site because no accessible roads lead to it.
Crews are still battling to douse the flames at the time of the report.
Residents say the fire is consuming their properties as they watch helplessly, unable to intervene because of the blaze’s intensity.
