The Ministry of the Interior has suspended the Private Security Organisation (PSO) operating licence of Kantanka Security Services Limited, as announced via a press release dated June 22, 2026.

This administrative action followed preliminary investigations into an incident that occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Kwabenya, Accra, wherein personnel of the firm were alleged to have utilised unauthorised uniforms and unlawfully possessed and deployed firearms and ammunition.

The Ministry determined that these actions constituted a prima facie violation of the Police Service (Private Security Organisations) Regulations, 1992 (L.I. 1571).

Consequently, Kantanka Security Services Limited has been directed to cease all operational activities forthwith, pending the finalisation of ongoing investigations.

All public institutions and private entities are hereby advised to refrain from engaging the services of the aforementioned company until further directives are issued by this ministry.

The company is further enjoined to extend its full cooperation to the Ghana Police Service and to furnish all relevant documentation and information requisite for the expeditious conclusion of the probe.

The Ministry assures the citizenry that the suspension is a purely administrative measure, executed in the public interest to ensure the highest standards of safety and security.
