Wife of Ketu North MP lauded for community impact

Mr Prince-Henry Agoha, a Volta Regional Treasurer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lauded Mrs Emefa Quashie Agbana, wife of the Ketu North Member of Parliament, for her contribution to education and community development.

Mr Agoha, an indigene of Afife in the Ketu North Municipality, said Mrs Agbana had over the years inspired many young people through her commitment to educational advancement, youth empowerment, and humanitarian interventions.

In a statement of commendation, he described her as one of Afife’s distinguished daughters, whose achievements and continued attachment to her hometown had become a source of pride for residents.

He said Mrs Agbana had consistently demonstrated that success should not disconnect individuals from their communities, noting that she had remained committed to initiatives that improved lives and created opportunities.

Mr Agoha, who is also a member of the NDC Communications Team, recalled the excitement that swept through Afife when Mrs Agbana was crowned Mama Hogbe, a prestigious beauty title in Anlo State, adding that the achievement inspired many young people and brought honour to the community.

He mentioned that notable personalities, including Togolese footballer Emmanuel Adebayor, had visited Afife through initiatives associated with Mrs Agbana, saying such visits gave residents, especially the youth, a sense of recognition and belonging.

Mr Agoha, however, described her commitment to education as her most enduring contribution to Ketu North, highlighting the Career Bridge Programme of the Universal Childcare Foundation, which she founded, as one of the most impactful educational interventions in the constituency.

He said the programme created opportunities for students to interact with accomplished professionals from various fields, exposing them to diverse career paths and motivating them to pursue excellence.

Participants in the programme included Ms Joan Selasie Ahiawordor, Mr Martin Azaglo, Mr Gabriel King Akpalu, and Mr John Dumelo, with beneficiaries drawn from several second-cycle institutions across the constituency.

Mr Agoha further commended Mrs Agbana for supporting vulnerable groups through donations of books, food items, feminine hygiene products, and other essential supplies to schools and communities.

He said the interventions had positively impacted many lives and reflected her dedication to improving the welfare of young people, women, and vulnerable groups.

He described her as a role model whose commitment to mentorship, philanthropy, and community service continued to inspire the youth in Ketu North and beyond.

Mr Agoha expressed appreciation for her contributions to the development of Afife and the wider Ketu North Municipality and encouraged her to continue championing initiatives that empower the youth and promote community development.
