MTN Ghana has presented GH¢20,000 in cash, airtime worth GH¢1,000, and a hamper of assorted drinks to the Chief and people of Akyem Tafo in support of the 2026 Ohum Festival.
The presentation was made at the Akyem Tafo Awansa Ahenfie (palace).
Mr Ransford Gyan, Area Sales Manager for the Eastern, Volta and Oti Regions of MTN Ghana, said the gesture demonstrated the company’s appreciation to Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV, Chief of Akyem Tafo, and his people for their loyalty and partnership with the MTN brand.
“We have seen how deeply the Ohum Festival reflects the identity, heritage, and aspirations of the Tafo people and we are proud to be associated with a celebration that continues to preserve culture while opening new doors of opportunity,” Mr Gyan said.

Mr Gyan said as part of activities to observe the festival, MTN Ghana would establish customer experience centres at strategic locations in Akyem Tafo to bring its services closer to the people.
“Our team will be available to provide enhanced customer experience to the people. We remain committed to delivering excellent service and making our products and services more accessible to the communities we serve,” he stated.

This year marked the telecommunication company’s 30 years of operations in Ghana, under the anniversary theme: “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You.”
Mr Gyan said: “For three decades we have been more than a telecommunications company. We have been a partner in progress, enabling lives, supporting businesses, and contributing our quota to national development.”

Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for its continuous support for Akyem Tafo and prayed for the company’s sustained growth and success.
The Ohum Festival is celebrated to give thanks to God and the ancestors for protection and to mark the first yam harvest and cleanse the royal stools.

Meanwhile, MTN Ghana also presented GH¢30,000 in cash, airtime worth GH¢2,000 and a hamper of assorted drinks to Ofori Panin Fie, the official palace of the Okyenhene at Kyebi, in support of the festival.
The presentation was made to the Paramount Chief of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area and his people as part of activities marking this year’s celebration.
