The Ghana Police Service, acting through its Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), has moved the full implementation of its automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
The change was announced in a press release dated September 29.
The Service explained that the extension will provide room for broader public awareness and education on the programme, covering how it operates, the traffic offences it will capture, and the Electronic Notices of Violation that will be served on offending motorists.
TRAFFITECH-GH is part of the Service’s broader drive to curb indiscipline on Ghana’s roads and strengthen compliance with road traffic laws and regulations.
The Service has called on motorists, drivers, and vehicle owners to make the most of the extra time to acquaint themselves with the programme before it goes live.
It also thanked the media for its continued support during the project’s introduction and restated its commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure TRAFFITECH-GH is implemented successfully for safer roads.
