Six arrested in shooting involving Adwoa Safo at brother’s residence

Police have arrested six private security guards in connection with the shooting of Sarah Adwoa Safo at her brother’s home in Kwabenya, Accra.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after the lawmaker was denied entry to a family ceremony.

A police search of the premises recovered five pump-action guns, a loaded Taurus pistol, extra ammunition, and communication devices.

According to authorities, officers on special duty responded to a distress call and found Safo’s vehicle riddled with bullet holes.

Preliminary reports indicate the armed guards fired shots during the confrontation.

All suspects and exhibits have been transferred to Police Headquarters, with further arrests anticipated as investigations continue.
